2. Check Permissions Carefully
When installing an APK, Android will show you the permissions it requests. Does a calculator app need access to your contacts? Probably not. Use common sense—if a game requests permissions that don't make sense for its gameplay, deny them.
3. Use an Antivirus Scanner
Even with safe sources, having a second layer of defense is smart. Tools like Malwarebytes for Android can scan APKs before you install them.
4. Keep Unknown Sources Toggle Off (When Not Using)
Enable 'Install from Unknown Sources' only when you are actively installing a verified game. Turn it back off afterwards to prevent accidental drive-by downloads from malicious ads on other sites.
